EPISODE 10
YIELD ME The Teams hit the ground running when they arrived in Delhi, getting into taxis and heading out in search of their next clue at the Red Fort. What Teams did not know was that the Red Fort was the first Yield of The Amazing Race Asia, allowing one Team to force another Team to stand by and wait for a predetermined amount of time. Any Team that arrives first at an unclaimed Yield may use it, although Teams may also opt not to Yield.
The Yield caused some interesting team dynamics. Sandy & Francesca were already looking to Yield Andy & Laura. Andrew & Syeon had an alliance with Mardy & Marsio to Yield Andy & Laura, because Mardy & Marsio thought that they would come in last otherwise.
Traffic Trouble
Once again, the Teams were facing Indian traffic, as their taxis weaved and bobbed through the cars on the road, trying to get ahead. Andrew & Syeon got out of their taxi first, but ran past the checkpoint. Sandy & Francesca arrived first at the checkpoint, and Yielded Andy & Laura. While Andy & Laura were waiting, Sandy & Francesca opened their clue – and found a Detour.
Teams must choose one of two tasks at a Detour, and this one offered the choice of Deliver, or Donkey. Teams that chose to Deliver had to locate Sunny International at the Gadodia Market, and then deliver bags of chilies to one of Delhi's oldest spice shops to receive their clue. Teams that chose the Donkey option, however, had to locate the flagged donkeys at Cycle Market, Chandni Chowk, before delivering a load of onions to the onion vendor at Lahori Crossing. |
