Last Call for Amazing Racers for The Amazing Race Asia 2!
Overwhelming viewer requests convince AXN to extend deadline!
Singapore, 27 March 2006 - Put your cameras into hyper-drive as the chance to be in the most amazing adventure and reality show has been extended by 2 weeks! Producers AXN announced today that they will extend the registration deadline to try-out for the second season of the B!GGEST AXN original production The Amazing Race Asia 2!
Seen, heard and discussed from newspapers to magazines, radio to TV, Internet forums to coffee break gossip, the wish for the registration deadline to be extended has been granted. Following the recent media coverage on the return of the Asian edition of the Emmy Award winning The Amazing Race, producers of the show received a sluice of requests from viewers for more time to prepare registration videos. This comes even after casting calls for The Amazing Race 2 were opened earlier than that of the show's inaugural season.
Joked Ricky Ow, General Manager of SPE Networks - Asia, "I suppose you can never be too prepared for the most amazing race of your life! We are glad that the public are taking the challenge seriously. Having seen a pioneer cast pave the way, I think The Amazing Race Asia 2 hopefuls have a better sense of what the producers are looking for. So far, the quality of submissions that we have received have been very encouraging. The extension will most definitely help us find the best cast possible. We are really excited that AXN's endeavour to bring the world's most exciting reality TV race to Asia continues to be received with such enthusiasm."
Registration has been opened since March 5, and will now close on April 13, 2007. All interested participants are to submit their applications in teams of two, and they must be living and/or working in Asia (excluding Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East). All contestants are required to be aged 21 and above, must speak English, as well as possess both a valid driving license and an international passport.
